Yad Vashem SHOAH Database: SHOAH is the Hebrew word for the Holocaust.  This database can be searched to find Holocaust victims by  name or by country.  One of the ways this database has been used, in my experience, is to create a list of victim names to speak aloud on Yom Hashoah - the Holocaust Day of Remembrance.  Here is a sample search: Betya Dardik.  In this search, I merely typed in the victim's country, which I chose to be Russia.  Betya was the first name on the page.  Notice that when the victim's page comes up, there are other links available for study, such as information on what happened in the Ukraine (her birthplace) and Hitler's Final Solution.  In the upper left hand corner of this victim's page is what is called a "Page of Testimony."  This document is submitted by someone that knew the deceased, and it lists all pertinent information about the individual.  This particular page of testimony happens to be in Russian.

JewishGen: This website allows you to search for Holocaust victims and survivors.  You can search by name (if you know it) or you can search by country.  This website is really only useful if you know the name of a victim/survivor.  Also, certain aspects of the database are only available if you have donated $100 or more to the foundation.
